This is fascinating to me how people view and relate to characters. I might do a post on this, how I perceive that a mark of good acting/writing/characterization is how they can get their audience to look at the characters as characters and not as representations of their gender/race/sexuality/disability/class/what have you, which is something that I feel too often happens (and I cannot claim to be completely innocent either).
