I can see that Rose is someone who gets desired by several men, and gets presented as special in a way that can be grating... but a prom queen? When we first meet her, she's living in a council flat with her mom, she dropped out of school, and she's working in a dead end job she hates. Her clothes aren't expensive, her hair is dyed, and she wears too much make-up.

I don't see the problem with not liking any character
Very much agreed. Every single character out there is going to be disliked by someone, and that's only natural. I am not a fan of bashing, however, especially because female characters tend to get the brunt of it.
