Also, NCIS is written almost entirely by men (as is a lot of television, I think...but I don't actually know so don't quote me on it), which has a LOT to do with the way female characters are written/portrayed (as in: poorly) and why the cool kid/frat guy is just SOOOOOO AWSUM!
