I frequently see people explaining they don't like Rose "because of the way she treated Mickey", and they mostly all seem to think Mickey is perfect and wonderful.

Mickey is fun, yes, and he became infinitely more likable later on, but he is hardly perfect, and he made just as many mistakes as Rose.
