Nine/Rose Rec List

Nine/Rose fic rec list last updated March 14, 2010.
New recs are marked as such.

I've been putting together several rather specific rec lists in the last few months (an alt!Doctor/Rose list, a reunionfic list, and a multi-era Rose/Doctor list), but in the end, I'm a Nine/Rose shipper at heart... and so, now, a rather massive Nine/Rose rec list.

I've separated them out as All-Ages, Teen, Adult, and Babyfic (I tried to err on the side of caution with the ratings). I've also starred (*) a couple fics that really stand out to me within each category in case you don't want to flip through dozens of stories.

Also, this list has gotten so extensive that I've started a separate list for gen/friendship fics of all ratings. If you're looking for good Nine & Rose stories without romantic tension, that's where to go.

All-Ages

A Man Who Wasn't There: An Alt!Series 2 by Coru. (WIP)
Summary: The Doctor survives the Parting of the Ways and continues to adventure with Rose Tyler....
Notes: An in-progress re-write of S2, with a Nine who didn't regenerate. Coru does a fantastic job accounting for the differences between Nine and Ten, and altering stories accordingly. In addition to retelling the episodes in new and interesting ways, she also has a rather brilliant series of TARDISodes featuring the quiet, in-between moments that aren't onscreen.

After Dark by Gillian Taylor.
Author's summary: There’s a reason he avoids sleep. She’s only just learning why.
Notes: A "Dalek" episode tag. Rose and the Doctor comfort each other.

Alien by wmr.
Summary: “So, you’re an alien, right?” Just how alien is he? Set somewhere in between The Long Game and Father's Day.
Notes: A quiet moment leads to some conversation (and flirting) over how alien the Doctor is.

An Understanding by Ellie.
Author's summary: Shortly after the events of "Dalek." Rose and the Doctor remain haunted and sleepless. When they bump into each other in the middle of the night, can they come to an understanding?
Notes: Another "Dalek" episode tag (I have a weakness, I admit it) dealing with the emotional fall-out for both Rose and the Doctor.

Anytime You Think You're in Danger by Cathica.
Author's summary: If you think this is a trap why are you still here?
Notes: A fascinating piece with a rather unique (and more calculating) take on Jack and his motives regarding Rose and the Doctor.

* Ariel by centaurea_m.
Summary: The Doctor and Rose go to see "The Tempest" before Shakespeare dies.
Notes: A wonderful balance of humor and poignancy. The Doctor thinks about love, and Rose is Rose.

Birthday Girl Anna Queen.
Summary: 'We're falling through space – you and me – clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go... ' – Rose persuades the Doctor to take her on a very special birthday outing, but will she get more than she bargained for?.
Notes: A sweet, shippy fic in which Rose and the Doctor celebrate the big 2-0.

Blummph by mrv3000 and goldydollar.
Authors' summary: The Doctor and Rose both catch colds.
Notes: A silly, fluffy fic set sometime after "World War III".

Claustrophobia by samchandler.
Author's summary: Rose and the Doctor have a rescue mission to attend to, whilst Jack acts as a distraction.
Notes: The Doctor gets to show off his Time Lord skills while trapped with Rose in a tight space.

Coda by Misato.
Author's summary: Rose helps Adam settle into the TARDIS, but the echoes of the encounter with the Dalek linger. Rose had asked the Doctor what he was changing into. He wishes he knew.
Notes: A lovely post-ep tag to "Dalek". Rose want to catch the Doctor when he falls; he knows she already has.

* Cosmology by Darcie.
Author's summary: Rose and the Doctor try to prevent an impending disaster from destroying an entire community, and in so doing discover a new depth to their feelings for each other. Written for the Rose Tyler Ficathon.
Notes: Perfect combination of an excellent multi-chapter adventure with a bit of romance.

Cutting the Tension by Avelynn Tame.
Author's summary: The Doctor gets a haircut. Ninth Doctor & Rose
Notes: A small ficlet about a haircut and sexual tension.

Deshabille by sangga.
Author's summary: Her mum always told her to dress for the occasion. It just takes Rose a while to figure out what the occasion is.
Notes: A wonderful ficlet about Rose, the clothes she wears, and her relationship with the Doctor.

Do You Love Me? by Gillian Taylor.
Author's summary: Love can mean so many things..
Notes: Rose keeps asking, and the Doctor always has a different answer. Wonderfully composed.

down the rabbit hole, and what she found there by momentmusical.
Author's summary: Soon she’s dropping her spoons and accidentally sticking her elbow in the butter dish. “Of all the things I have seen,” she says, picking up a teapot and frowning at the empty bottom. At a tea party, really. “This must be the most ridiculous.”
Notes: Sort of a Wonderland and Doctor Who fusion/metaphor. A bit outré, but only fitting considering the subject. The Doctor & Romana, and Nine & Rose.

* Gravity by Meredith.
Author's summary: Written for dark_aegis in the lj hearts_in_time "Run" ficathon, for the prompt "The Doctor telling Rose about Gallifrey". "Seriously-- in your little world, are there any dangerous planets?"
Notes: Absolutely brilliant dialogue (complete with back and forth snark), and very true to character. The lead in to how the Doctor brings up Gallifrey is perfect, and Rose's solution to the Doctor's self-castigation is wonderful.

It Doesn't Mean It Isn't Beautiful by katrina87.
Author's summary: So she'd watched as he'd let the last remaining relic of her species die and explode into pieces of disgusting bloody flesh that flew into different directions around the room. She was sitting across from him, whining that there wasn't enough vinegar on her serving and stealing random bites from his.
Notes: An episode tag to "End of the World", as the Doctor and Rose get chips and continue to get to know each other. A bit pre-shippy.

* Lovers, 'Tis Almost Fairy-Time by Raven.
Author's summary: Rose is searching for the meaning of love. The Doctor just wants to sit down with a good book.
Notes: Stunningly gorgeous fic in which the Doctor takes Rose to meet several famous authors. Rose hears some of their thoughts on love as she and the Doctor get to know each other better.

* Lullaby by Julie S.
Author's summary: Sometimes, sleep is hard to come by.
Notes: A lovely vignette about Rose, the Doctor, and sleeping.

Marbella, 1989 by Anna Queen.
Summary: A ficlet based on a throwaway line in PotW.
Notes: One poignant bit of the "all that ever could be" that Rose saw during her Bad Wolf stint.

Not Just Another Park Bench by goldy_dollar.
Author's summary: She knows she’s too early because she’s found him.
Notes: S4 Rose runs into pre-S1 Nine.

One of Those Things by avoria.
Author's summary: “I’m sure you’d have managed,” the man told her kindly. “You look like you deal with that sort of stuff quite a bit. Jeopardy friendly, one might call you.”
Rose smiled to herself. “Yeah,” she agreed with a laugh. “I guess you could say that.”

Notes: After the Doctor and Rose have a fight on an alien world, Rose unknowingly runs into a much older future incarnation of the Doctor, who helps her sort a few things out.

Resolve by tessavance.
Author's summary: According to the Shooting Scripts there's a missing scene after the Doctor, Rose and Jack have a chat with the Emporer Dalek and before they return to the Game Station. This is my take on what it might have involved.
Notes: A nice missing scene ficlet.

Restive by dynapink.
Author's summary: A lovely, peaceful holiday, in a lovely peaceful city – but who wants that?
Notes: A wonderful look at mid-series Nine & Rose, together on a quiet planet. The Doctor deals with boredom about as well as one might expect.

* Roundabout by Casira.
Author's summary: Time and possibilities keep turning... an exploration of the Doctor and Rose's relationship throughout the series. Spoilers for all episodes.
Notes: The POV is scattered, but with purpose and great effect.

NEW Sea Bound Hearts by rutsky.
Author's summary: Singers in this hard but beautiful land often told Helen they knew as many songs as there were stars in the sky. Tonight, with the aid of two impossible strangers, she would help one singer reclaim those stars.
Notes: Largely an outside observer story, and mostly gen, but with one or two lovely Nine/Rose moments. Well-told, and easily imaginable as an actual episode.

Seasons Ch. 1 Ch. 2 Ch. 3 Ch. 4 Ch. 5 by mahala.
Summary: Four seasons with Nine & Rose, and a final chapter with Ten.
Notes: Subtle vignettes built around the four seasons. Excellent slow-paced character development.

Security by Dameruth.
Author's summary: Set immediately after the end of "Dalek" -- Adam settles in (sort of), Rose and Nine talk, and the TARDIS makes her feelings known...
Notes: Another short and deft "Dalek" post-ep.

Silent Witness by larielromeniel.
Author's summary: A missing moment from Take A Little Piece Of My Heart. Jack didn't really leave the Doctor and Rose for 30 hours at Woodstock.
Notes: A short Jack POV piece from a longer fic about the TARDIS Trio at Woodstock. Stands on its own, and is quite sweet.

Synesthesia Tastes Just Like a Rainstorm by takethewords.
Author's summary: In the end, or the beginning, it's a whole lot simpler than he ever thought it could be.
Notes: A gorgeous ficlet on Nine's thoughts and observations.

The Life Fantastic by Honorh.
Author's summary: One life, from beginning to end. The Doctor grieves, lives, fights, dances, eats chips, and falls in love. Not such a bad life after all.
Notes: A perfect fic encompassing the Ninth Doctor's life.

The Universe in Gallifreyan by northern_magic.
Author's summary: a melody of cyclic harmonies and undulating words and an aeolian voice that whispered of the North-
(Not quite what she thought the writing on the sticky notes would sound like, but it's good enough for Rose.)

Notes: A thoughtful piece about the Doctor, his language, and Rose.

To Interrupt by Fayth.
Author's summary: Jack sees something he doesn't want to interrupt.
Notes: Jack's observations on the Doctor and Rose when they think they are alone.

* What Isn't Said by lm.
Author's summary: Rose is learning the value of silence.
Notes: The Doctor and Rose; sleeping and silence. Short and gorgeous.

What Use Are Emotions? by wmr.
Author's summary: Rose finds the Doctor in an agony of self-doubt after their encounter with the Dalek. Post-ep for Dalek.
Notes: As previously mentioned, I seem to have a bit of a thing for "Dalek" episode tags. This another excellent take on it.

Woman Wept (We Laughed There) by juleskicks.
Author's summary: Summary is from "Boom Town", so possibly a slight spoiler for that? And some very slight Doctor/Rose.
Notes: A take on Nine & Rose's trip to Woman Wept.

Teen

18 Seconds to Make Old Things New Again by amberwind.
Author's summary: He'd just left Rose Tyler behind in an alley. So what was she doing nearly a hundred years in her relative future? And what's with all the Zeppelins?
Notes: Brilliant multi-chapter fic in which the Ninth Doctor crash lands in the altVerse during the eighteen seconds he was gone in "Rose". He discovers a much older, Bad Wolf-ish Rose, a hundred years of history, and as per usual, issues with Torchwood.

À Deux by ninamusing.
Author's summary: In which a simple visit home after the events of "The Long Game" becomes a series of unexpected challenges for our intrepid duo, Rose proves resourceful with the tools of her trade, and much mock is made of the Doctor's driving. It's compliant with "Father's Day", but somewhat pre-empts "The Doctor Dances".
Notes: The scene of Rose putting makeup on the Doctor is quite startlingly and uniquely hot.

A Lot Can Happen in a Little by takethewords.
Author's summary: It had been like watching his planet burn all over again, in her eyes that day on the street corner. She presses a palm to his chest, feeling the twin beats inside. Looks down at where she's touching him like he carries the secrets of the universe beyond his ribs. "Are they both broken, then?"
Notes: A scattered, lyrical tag to "Father's Day".

Always Never by prchung.
Author's summary: When faced with certain death delivered by the Dalek Emperor, the Ninth Doctor experiences a serene alternate reality in the blink of an eye.
Notes: Sad but lovely. An alternate reality between the Doctor and Rose in a few moments before the Bad Wolf appears.

Anniversary by Kazzy.
Author's summary: Time Lords didn’t measure time.
Notes: The Doctor thinks about time, Gallifrey, and Rose.

* Chrysalis by sangga.
Author's summary: They are, both of them, evolving.
Notes: A bit A/U now, as it is about the Doctor trying to tell Rose about regeneration. Lovely.

Clocksmith by cathica.
Author's summary: This never happened. And they'd like to keep it that way.
Notes: This is a Doctor & Rose story with bite. A bit hard, but brilliant.

Comes the Wolf by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: Kiss the storm, Rose Tyler. Kiss it before the wolf comes. [Nine/Rose(/the TARDIS)]
Notes: The TARDIS knows what's coming.

Deconstruction by SCAngel. (WIP)
Author's summary: The Doctor shook his head. "I still can't believe you blew it up. You blew up the whole street, even!"
Notes: A/U post-POTW in which the Doctor doesn't regenerate, Rose has come into her own, and there are some inevitable tensions. In progress, updated sporadically.

* Defining Moments by cathica.
Author's summary: Love takes time. This is how much.
Notes: Uses measurements of time as an awesome frame for a short but perfect Nine/Rose story.

Dreamers Often Lie by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: This is a fantasy, she thinks and clings on still, feeling his heartbeats in her skin. She doesn't want a world where he isn't real.
Notes: Rose is trapped on an alien world where they try to make her believe the Doctor and her travels are all lies. A bit of telepathic sex, but nothing too graphic.

Effects by Raven.
Author's summary: The Doctor delivers a gift.
Notes: An absolutely gorgeous collection of vignettes, but be warned- it has a very sad ending.

Learning to Dance by anaphalis.
Author's summary: Five and a half hours. Eighteen seconds. And a lifetime lived in 4/4 time. (Spoilers to 'Girl in the Fireplace')
Notes: Does take place during the Tenth's incarnation, but is solidly a Nine/Rose fic. The Ninth Doctor rescues Rose and Mickey during GitF, and he and Rose spend a lifetime together before both going back to the timelines they belong in.

Like Riding a Bike by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: When Rose Tyler was twelve, she got a red bicycle and thought it the most beautiful thing in the universe. She would sometimes sneak down to watch it, gleaming at her, promising riding it would be like flying and it could take her anywhere, even to the shops, even beyond. When Rose Tyler was twelve, she rode her bicycle and fell off.
Notes: Definitely one of the ways I could see them getting together. Mild H/C, mild sex.

Measure of a Time Lord by Gillian Taylor.
Author's summary: What is the measure of a man who walks in eternity? And, if that measurement is gone, what does that make him? A Time Lord? Or nothing at all?
Notes: A fantastic multi-chapter adventure fic in which the Doctor and Rose are in trouble, the Doctor's lost his memories, and Rose has access to them. Also has a hot adult epilogue.

Pulse by Casira.
Author's summary: Sometimes even mischievous questions can have heartbreaking answers. Features the Doctor, Rose, and the question of just what makes him so different from humans after all.
Notes: Gorgeous, sensual, and a bit sad.

Rise Above by Random Battlecry.
Author's summary: She asks, and he delivers: a lesson in Gallifreyan biology.
Notes: This is sort of borderline between Teen/Adult- both carnal and innocent at once. A lesson in biology also includes a bit of all that ever could be. Lovely writing that doesn't neglect humor.

Song For Rose by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: Time sings. She can feel it as she's clinging to him, skin to skin, his eyes closed and time almost still around them. Between heartbeats, there's a song.
Notes: A gorgeous "all that could be" story. Both post and during POTW.

Tango by _kali_.
Author's summary: The Doctor takes Rose out to 1890s Paris for a bit of fun....
Notes: A Doctor/Rose dancing story that is just as hot as any "dancing" story.

The Grimvault by Ninamazing.
Author's summary: Rose finds herself in mortal peril, and Nine is handy with a sonic screwdriver. A regular Monday, really. Set after "Boom Town."
Notes: A plot as good as any episode, with a dollop of Doctor/Rose snogging.

This is Your Life by akainagi.
Author's summary: The Doctor reflects on what he stands to lose.
Notes: A poignant, reflective Nine/Rose ficlet.

Time Lord Tricks by Dave7.
Author's Summary: Drabble inspired by watching Nine perform his little trick at the end of EotW.
Notes: Funny, smexy ficlet.

* Time's Secret by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: There are bad days and there are bad days, a careful study in everything going wrong that can go wrong. Rose Tyler is about to have one and she'll never want to change one glorious moment of it. [Nine/Rose]
Notes: Because really, this is exactly the sort of life they lead.

Unspoken by Sarah Lotus.
Author's summary: Each night he comes to her, in the place between sleep and awake.
Notes: A second person POV that works. Introspective, with non-graphic sex.

Adult

A Man Under Wool and Leather by Red Light Special.
Author's summary: Time came and went for a bit, so many adventures and experiences; all hazed over by the simple reality there’s a man under all the wool and leather. A man with hard muscled angles and unexpected soft places. A man who smells like rain and mumbles in a different language when he dreams.
Notes: A sequel to Laundry but can stand on its own. The Doctor and Rose go skinny dipping, and get nudity and sex more than a bit mixed up.

A Simple Question by airavanya.
Author's summary: Sometimes Rose thinks too much. [Note: I'm not quite show how to categorize this, as it's not PWP, but it's not all that angsty... there is a plot there, somewhere.]
Notes: A nice combination of character musing and sex.

A Time to Heal by Tallulah99.
Author's summary: Not quite PWP…more like PWALBOP (p0rn with a leeeetle bit of plot:). The Doctor and Rose both need to heal in their own way.
Notes: A H/C leading to sex story. Rather average for the genre, but something about this one in particular appealed to me.

Acknowledging The Pink Elephant by aibhinn.
Author's summary: After a rather embarrassing encounter on the planet New Caledonia, the sexual tension between Rose and the Ninth Doctor becomes nearly intolerable: a great big pink elephant in the middle of the TARDIS. Rose decides she's got to do something.
Notes: The one with the spanking.

Addiction by Kitten.
Author's summary: The Doctor has an addiction.
Notes: Rather high on the kink quotient (voyeurism, sex toys), so not everyone's cup of tea. Also, could use a bit of editing. If dom!Doctor and kinks are your thing, you'll probably enjoy it. If not, YMMV.

* Advent Calendar by sap1066.
Author's summary: 24 days. 24 positions. Seriously.
Notes: All sorts of sex in all sorts of positions. Multi-chapter, with a couple of different writing styles. Hot and sweet and fun all at once.

Always in the Kitchen at Parties by sap1066.
Author's summary: He was at a party. He knew he was at a party because he was in the kitchen.
Notes: Four chapters of escaping, brilliant humor, and hot smut.

Always Wanted by lilacfree.
Author's summary: Jack finds out that sometimes the Doctor isn't the good guy and Rose has suffered for it. Jack's not happy, the Doctor ain't having it, and Rose stands up for herself. This begins shortly after ‘The Doctor Dances’ and takes place over the course of some unspecified time following that episode.
Notes: Several POV switches, but not too hard to follow.

* And That One Time... by lightgetsin.
Author's summary: Five adventures Captain Jack teases Rose and the Doctor about later.
Notes: Five awesome and funny Nine, Jack, and Rose stories, four of which are totally gen, while one is a smokin' OT3 smutlet. One of the very rare OT3 stories I've read that not only rung really true, but that I also found extremely hot.

Better Than Sex by SCAngel.
Author's summary: “Doubt there’s a man alive who can top this,” Rose sighed, dragging the back of the spoon over the softening ice cream and lifting it to her lips.
Notes: Ice cream and sex, all in one fic. What more could you want?

Bound and Determined by Jessa L'Rynn.
Author's summary: The Doctor and Rose are having the usual: kidnapping, aliens, death threats, paradoxes, and theft. But when the aliens wise up and add an auction into the mix, things start to look a little difficult for the Doctor. Or maybe a little fantastic? 9/Rose
Notes: An excellent combination of adventure and smut. Mild bondage.

Fevered by HonorH.
Author's summary: "You," growls the Doctor, pulling the laces loose, "are," he continues, moving further down, feeling his fingertips all but burst into flame, "mine."
Notes: Taking the Doctor's possessiveness, especially around Jack, to its logical and entirely smokin' conclusion.

Going Down by fid_gin.
Author's summary: It is also a long way down from floor 500.
Notes: Technically a sequel, but stands alone. Smutty episode tag to "The Long Game". Has a sequel, Moving Forward set after "The Doctor Dances".

Good Morning by imaginary_iby.
Author's summary: A naughty little fic about the Ninth Doctor liking sleepy morning sex.
Notes: Inspired by two Chris E. pictures that are available at the end of the fic.

Hell and Fire Hydrants by Julie S.
Author's summary: But she can’t really do anything anyway. Can’t just wake up and shag him or wake up and kiss him and shag him or even really just tell him she loves him, and then maybe shag him.
Notes: I seem to rec a lot of fics that feature sleeping...

Hidden in Plain Sight by Lillibet.
Author's summary: "We shouldn't be doing this." His breath was warm against her shoulder as he moved closer, but not close enough.
Notes: The Doctor follows Rose after she flees a hurtful comment from Jackie.

I Feel a Thunderbolt by takethewords.
Author's summary: He keeps watch as she combs her fingers through her hair and he can calculate the exact distance between her body and his, even now, even with the burn of the rum in his throat and the curtain of people in the crowded pub.
Notes: A sensual ficlet for the porn battle.

In the Dark by karenbee.
Author's summary: The ever-present tension between them had increased to electric proportions. She was sure she wasn’t imagining it.
Notes: Rose and the Doctor get locked in a small, dark room together.

Lessons by kimberleigh.
Summary: Nine/Rose spanking for the kinkathon.
Notes: The kink quotient is (unsurprisingly) pretty high, so YMMV. Hot if it's your thing.

Like Chocolate by HonorH.
Author's summary: Sometimes, she has to remind him of their differences.
Notes: I always enjoy a good smutfic that takes into account the fact that the Doctor is alien.

Odd Man Out by taraljc.
Author's summary: Set after "The Doctor Dances." Captain Jack discovers that Rose doesn't play games with the Doctor.
Notes: Voyeur!Jack watches the Doctor and Rose dance.

Out of the Woods by Lillibet.
Author's summary: She sighed a little, brushed some of the dirt from her knees, pulled a twig from her hair and tried not to think about how fantastic it had been.
Notes: An over the console follow up to an in-the-woods shag. Hot.

Position of Authority fid_gin.
Author's summary: It's the lie, the pretending that finally breaks them.
Notes: A pretense on an alien world leads to rather hot, frantic sex.

Post Match Analysis by Shrak.
Author's summary: The Ninth Doctor and Rose spend a quiet evening together.
Notes: A library + Nine/Rose smut = win.

Pretty Damn Good by epiphany_gun.
Author's summary: 900 words of PWP. I mean REALLY WP. Rose, Nine and a kitchen counter.
Notes: Kitchen counter porn.

Rain Soaked by Lillibet.
Author's summary: He looks at her, sweeps his darkened eyes over her naked body, and she warms under his gaze.
Notes: Rain and sex.

* Ricochet by rabid1st.
Author's summary: Rose didn’t need her passport…she needed something else entirely from Mickey…unfortunately, he didn’t get the job done.
Notes: Jack pushes the Doctor to make a move before he loses the chance, the Doctor is himself, and there is hot alien sex.

Same as Always by rallalon.
Author's summary: In which much sexual tension is generated and resolved between Rose and the Ninth Doctor.
Notes: Really hot, intense, gorgeous smut fic.

Sentire by roquentine.
Author's summary: Set post-The Doctor Dances, this series is about the connection between the Doctor and Rose. Jack gets, you know, involved, but it is primarily a Nine/Rose story. Chapters will range from PG to NC-17 so I've marked the whole series as "Adult."
Notes: Most of the time, I'm really not into the Nine/Rose/Jack OT3, but the emphasis of this one is Nine/Rose, and Jack's involvement actually worked for me in this one.

Something Borrowed by ninamusing and wmr.
Summary: Rose borrows the Doctor's jacket. He wants it back.
Notes: Hot and funny, my favorite combination.

Sooner or Later by Fantastik1973.
Author's summary: Nine/Rose. Just after his regeneration, the Ninth Doctor gets some advice from an old friend.
Notes: The Brig is awesome, and should be in more New Who stories. Also, I love the juxtaposition of the two storylines- Nine just after the Time War with the Brig, and the sex with Rose.

Sweet Surrender by doylefan22.
Summary: Rose gives a rather exhausted Doctor a hand.
Notes: Both smutty and a bit sweet.

Time to Spare by doylefan22.
Author's summary: Killing two challenges with one stone. Firstly evenstar_estel wanted a fic that included the line 'Trust me, I'm a Doctor' from Chris' interview and the notion that the Doctor's two hearts speed up his recovery time. Secondly lovepollution wanted a fic with the Doctor and Rose trapped in a pitch dark room.
Notes: Nine/Rose smut in the dark.

You Cold? by just_the_doctor.
Author's summary: His tongue was insistent and his hands were soft. The only gentle thing about him was his breath, and that only came alternately between great bouts of emotion. Five years had built up momentum like a storm.
Notes: Lovely smut in the snow.

Babyfic

Getting to Know You by imaginary_iby.
Author's summary: The Doctor gets to know his daughter.
Notes: The first in a series. Adorable.

Glasgow Water Riots by jillybean.
Author's summary: "I found myself in Glasgow, the year 200,000. I needed money and trip off this rock. I could let myself think that a few days ago the Doctor had been on Platform Five. A few days for these people. A whole lot of years for me."
Notes: Really, really not your typical babyfic, and rather brilliant and original. A pregnant Rose, separated from the Doctor, finds herself in Glasgow of the future, during bad times. Features a ton of interesting original characters, a twisty plot, and an eventual happy ending. Mostly Rose and OCs centric.

One of Those by Dave7.
Author's summary: “Have one of those myself, you know. Well, almost.”
Notes: Perfect dad-to-be Nine. There really should be more domestic Nine fic.

Strange Kind of Love by Sparks.
Author's summary: It was a strange kind of love, and she sometimes wished it were different. Then she looked at him and wondered how she could ever want it to be different, because it was him, and how could she want it any differently?
Notes: Feels a bit out of character for the Doctor at times, but it was written early in S1. A snippet of Rose & Nine and their relationship.

NEW The Star Child by Jessa L'Rynn.
Author's summary: The Doctor and Rose are given a command on the planet Rakku. Along with the command comes a bundle of heartache for the Doctor and, as time goes on, for Rose, too.
Notes: Nine and Rose take care of an alien baby.
