Multi-era Doctor & Rose rec list last updated March 13, 2010.
New recs are marked as such. I've also starred (*) a few of my personal favorites.

As a fan of both the classic and new Who, I especially enjoy stories that manage to incorporate both well. So here's my collection of multi-era Doctor Who Doctor & Rose recs.

I've indicated when the recs are adult. Some are shippy, and some are just great gen stories with Rose and the Doctor(s).

One
Advice by esoteria80.
Summary: The Ninth Doctor approaches the First for some advice about the things he might have forgotten in the passing centuries.
Notes: Mostly One and Nine, with just a bit of Rose at the end.

Notes: An elderly, dying Rose comes to the first Doctor to say goodbye. (One/Rose)

Earth Hospitality by malicehaughton.
Author's summary: Jackie unexpectedly runs into the First Doctor with Susan and introduces them to tea.
Notes: As mentioned in the summary, this is a gen story involving Jackie interacting with One & Susan. Rose is only mentioned in passing, but it's a nice story and worth including.

NEW Go Forward In All Your Beliefs by Raven.
Author's summary: Nine, Rose and Jack. The Doctor is looking for something, or someone.
Notes: Not precisely with the First Doctor, but a follow-up to "The Dalek Invasion of Earth". Painful and lovely.

Notes: The Doctor, still a small child, meets Rose briefly for the first time. (Ten/Rose)

Two
The One in Which Rose Meets Two by livii.
Author's summary: You can't spell meta without c-r-a-c-k.
Notes: Hysterical. Two/Rose, Ten/Rose, and even a bit of girl!Eleven/Rose, but completely cracky.

Three
A Regency Romance by dynapink. (Adult)
Author's summary: The Doctor and Rose spend a weekend at a Regency-era house party, where everyone mistakenly assumes them to be husband and wife. A further complication arises when the Doctor discovers he's already there ... in one of his previous incarnations.
Notes: Ten & Rose, already in an established relationship, run into Three. Nice interactions between them all.

Complicated by padawanpooh.
Author's summary: After the TARDIS flies into a patch of temporal shearing Rose finds that her relationship with the Doctor is more complex than she had ever imagined.
Notes: Rose spends time with the Third Doctor, making her realize some things about her relationship with the Tenth. Just a hint of Ten/Rose.

Four
A Place for Everything by hotelmontana.
Author's summary: Rose is such a clever girl. Romana is, too.
Notes: A short piece in which Romana and the Fourth Doctor drop Rose off in her proper universe.

* Alaska is Definitely Not Cardiff by souleswanderer.
Author's summary: Originally posted on Time & Chips as part of the Anywhere But Cardiff Challenge. Set after Doomsday. Rose thinks back on her adventures with a time traveller, yet time has its own agenda.

Notes: Rose unwittingly spends some time with Four when the Tenth Doctor needs her safe.

Timepiece by LizBee.
Author's summary: Unscrupulous temporal engineers and a major breach in the laws of time lead Rose Tyler and the first Romana to join forces to rescue the Doctor. Both of him.
Notes: Rather poignant, but with its humorous moments, as well. Rose and Romana I are quite fun together. Gen.

NEW Time Trip by lostwolf.
Author's summary: One small mishap is all it takes to reveal more about the Doctor than Rose would ever have dreamed.
Notes: Ten and Rose run into Four and Adric. Inevitable shenanigans occur. Multi-chapter.

Five
A Tale of Two Doctors by sensiblecat.
Author's summary: At the end of Time Crash the two TARDISes separated and took Five and Ten back to their respective timelines. But something went a bit wrong. The Doctors separated. The TARDIS sort of......cloned. Now Five has Ten's TARDIS, and he's about to find out about the Year that Never Was. But why's he in a parallel world, and who is the girl waiting on the beach?
Notes: Eventually, a Ten/Rose reunion story. But Rose spends plenty of time getting to know Five, as well.

Fifty-six and One Third Seconds by Tron. (Adult)
Author's summary: A lifetime of love in under a minute. That's all they'd had. All the time she'd been given with the blonde Doctor with the predilection for cricket. To a Time Lord, it would never be enough, but Rose had made it count.-- A companion story to 'My Goddess Fortuna' detailing the time Rose spent with the Fifth Doctor.
Notes: "My Goddess Fortuna" is also a fantastic, epic story, but this four-chapter companion peace was my favorite- the time that Five spends training Rose. Five/Rose.

Five and Dime by Clarissa. (WIP)
Author's summary: Some accidental time travel leaves Rose with an unfamiliar friend.
Notes: Rose ends up on the Fifth Doctor's TARDIS during an alien invasion of Earth in the 80s. In progress, updated sporadically.

Five People Rose Tyler Danced With by kiarasayre.
Author's summary: Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Notes: Does include Rose/Jimmy, Rose/Mickey, and Rose/Adam, but the final story is a Rose & Five snippet.

Hearts Behind by Halia. (WIP)
Author's summary: An inebriated mishap on Cup night leads to Rose waking up in the TARDIS -- only trouble is, it’s the wrong one. And with her Doctor suddenly absent from the whole of creation, she and a somewhat familiar, fair-haired stranger are left to mend the ruptured patch in time; all whilst combating a mysterious entity threatening to swallow planet Earth.
Notes: Rose and the Fifth Doctor have to save the world together, after the Tenth and Peri disappear. In progress, hasn't been updated in a long while.

In the Wrong Order by LizBee.
Author's summary: Crashlanding in 2006, the Doctor encounters his most terrifying aliens ever - Rose and Jackie Tyler.
Notes: Short and funny, but a bit sweet as well. The Fifth Doctor accidentally ends up on the Powell Estate after the events of The Christmas Invasion. A bit Five/Rose-ish.

Mistress of Dread by Emery Board. (WIP)
Author's summary: Something's fishy in the country of Egypt, to paraphrase the Doctor. With Osirans bent on recovering a political prisoner -whatever the cost -even the Doctor may not be enough. What about two Doctors though?
Notes: A WIP that hasn't been updated in over a year, but quite entertaining. Most heavily a Nine/Rose & Jack story, but Five, Peri, and Erimem show up two thirds of the way in. Jack delights in freaking Five out.

Someone New by Fayth.
Author's summary: Rose takes a moment to clear her head only to have someone new come to cloud it.
Notes: Post "The Girl in the Fireplace" Rose and Ten end up at the same party Five & co are at. Rose and Five hit it off. Slightly Five/Rose.

Six
Atlas' Burden by padawanpooh.
Author's summary: Past and future will collide when the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Jack land on Atlas.
Notes: The Sixth Doctor's TARDIS gets a distress call from her future self when Nine, Jack, and Rose get into trouble. Multi-chapter adventure with a bit of an open ending.

* Comparing Notes and its Adult sequel About Time by tessavance.
Author's summary: Basically, it's a meeting between 9/Rose and 6/Peri. 9 has something to tell 6, and Rose and Peri compare notes. I guess it's also AU, since Rose had no idea about regeneration before POTW.
Notes: The first part is quite funny, and the second part is some lovely Nine/Rose smut, complete with a shocked Six.

Mistaken by vvj5.
Author's summary: Rose braves the unknown, leaping across dimensions, only to find she's got the wrong Doctor.
Notes: Rose accidentally runs into Six while using the Dimension Canon (pre-JE). Rather tongue-in-cheek.

Past Imperfect by ponygirl.
Author's summary: Sometimes you need a little help, and it's good to see a familiar face from the past.
Notes: Multi-chapter adventure with Six and Evelyn Smythe, and Rose and Ten.

Seven
Double Crossing by Jessa L'Rynn.
Author's summary: The Doctor is out of his depth. The Doctor is wondering what he could possibly be thinking. The companions are having the time of their lives. Two threats at once lead to a complicated situation.
Notes: Ten and Rose bump into Seven and Ace at a Star Trek convention. A multi-chapter adventure ensues, with a wonderful balance of humor, plot, and characterization. Has a sequel, Any Old Storm in a Port, involving Eight (see below).

Four of a Kind by Gillian Taylor.
Author's summary: Life's a gamble. Life with the Doctor is poker. And four of a kind is a powerful hand.
Notes: Ten and Rose run into Seven and Ace.

Received Pronunciation by livii.
Summary: A short, completely crack-ish Seven/Rose ficlet.
Notes: Adult and totally cracked in the best sort of way.

The Library of Blank Books by ponygirl.
Author's summary: Deserted libraries are creepy enough when the books have words in them. Let alone when the books are empty... and hungry.
Notes: Seven & Ace and Nine & Rose run into each other... and a creepy library. Gen adventure fic.

* The Polar Bears' Golf Club by Doyle.
Author's summary: 40th century Echlin has one of the most famous centres of time travel research in the galaxy. Rose and Ace have some nitro-9, a bronze medal in gymnastics (under-7s category) and a couple of really enormous false moustaches. No contest, really.
Notes: Rose and Ace team up to save their respective Doctors. Awesome, funny, and gen.

To Be Rational by Fayth.
Author's summary: The Doctor tells Rose that it isn't monsoon season for weeks. He's a Time Lord, of course his sense of timing is never out. Right?
Notes: Seven and his umbrella rescue Rose from a piloting error by Ten. A wee bit Ten/Rose.

Wolves of Time by Emery Board.
Author's summary: Rose and the Doctor find themselves on a small, completely hospitable planet with no unfortunate quirks or foibles --oh, except for the reigning dictator and their policy of subjugation of the so-called "lesser sex". But apart from that, they're wonderful!
Notes: Ten and Rose run into Ace and Seven.

Eight
NEW Any Old Storm in a Port by Jessa L'Rynn.
Author's summary: The Doctor sends Rose away while he goes to handle something he won't tell her about. She asks to visit a party she missed during her first trip with the Doctor. Danger brings an unexpected meeting. Sequel to Double Crossing.
Notes: An Eight & Rose sequel to Double Crossing (see above, in the Seven category). Lots of Harry Potter references.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell by WMR.
Author's summary: Ask not—we cannot know—what end the gods have set for you, for me.
Notes: A time bubble dumps Rose back into 2001 and the Eight Doctor. She tries to warn him obliquely of the Time War, while the Ninth Doctor and Jackie try desperately to track down Rose's whereabouts.

One Perfect Day by AvalonNocture.
Author's summary: When an accident sends Rose back in time to meet the Eighth Doctor, she considers telling him about the Time War. Will she risk it?
Notes: Rose accidentally ends up on the Eighth Doctor's TARDIS, and gets him to take her to Gallifrey. Sweet and just a little shippy (Eight/Rose, Ten/Rose)

The Day the Earth Moved by Gillian Taylor.
Author's summary: It’s his future, her past. Doing the right thing has never been this hard.
Notes: Eight ends up in the alt!verse just pre-"Journey's End". JE spoilers.

The Planet Out of Time by Woof.
Author's summary: An accidental collision in the Time Vortex leaves the Doctor and his companion stuck on a strange rock, with even stranger company. 9th Doctor, Rose, and... the 8th Doctor? oh dear...
Notes: Just a bit A/U, as Rose finds out about regeneration from meeting Eight. A fun, lovely story, though.

The Power of Two by lostwolf.
Author's summary: The number eight has many meanings. In maths, it is a power of two, being 23, hence the title. However, it is worth noting that, in physics, it is the second magic number and, in numerology, it is the number of building, and in some theories, also the number of destruction.
Notes: Eight bumps into Rose and Ten, and reminds the Tenth Doctor of some things he'd forgotten.

* Today's Not Over Yet by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: Tomorrow, the world is ending, and today, he is happy. [Eighth Doctor with special guest stars.]
Notes: The Eighth Doctor gets some advice from a much younger Rose.

Twist of Fate by surrexi. (WIP)
Author's summary: The Eighth Doctor unexpectedly lands in a parallel world and a blonde unlocks his front door; the Tenth Doctor answers a distress call and finds an old friend on a deserted beach. When an old enemy brings the four of them together, can they save the universe in time to sort out their own timelines?
Notes: Post S3, Eight accidentally lands in Pete's universe and recovers Rose; meanwhile, Ten runs into Charley. The four team up to fight an old enemy. In progress.

Where You Need to Be by Misato.
Author's summary: Wandering around with Rose in post-WW2 London, the Doctor meets an old friend. The TARDIS knows what it's doing.
Notes: Nine and Rose run into a young Fitz; adult Fitz relates a tale of a childhood encounter with leather jacketed Northerner to Eight.

Nine & Ten
(Not exactly classic & new, but still fun. There are also a couple more Nine & Ten stories on my Reunionfic rec list.)

NEW Coaster Castles (And Other Sturdy Defenses) by rallalon. (Adult)
Author's summary: He's only a bloke in a bar, but he's a bloke in a bar who needs her.
Notes: The Tenth Doctor goes back to see Rose while she's still traveling with Nine. Hot.

Disentegration by WMR. (Adult)
Author's summary: “You know this is goodbye, right? No visits. I don’t do that. If you leave now, Rose, this is it.” Spoilers up to Age of Steel.
Notes: Rose makes the choice to leave the Tenth Doctor. some years later, she runs into the Ninth Doctor, who eventually takes her back to the Tenth. Very honest multi-chapter.

Duality by Dave7.
Author's summary: His hand is on her skin, his cool fingers curling possessively around her bare thigh.
Nine/Rose/Ten. You know, in that order. Pure crack.

Notes: Highly amusing ficlet.

Future Flirt by Fayth.
Author's summary: A market place in the future but is that his Rose? Who is she hugging?.
Notes: The Ninth Doctor gets a glimpse of his Tenth self and Rose in the future.

I Need You by Fayth.
Author's summary: Ten has screwed up, and for once the whole of space and time may not be enough to make her stay.
Notes: Rose takes a chance to see Nine again, to comfort her after some rough times with Ten.

Just a Second by Fayth.
Author's summary: There is a place the Doctor goes when he's low or has lost companions. Why has the TARDIS taken him there now?
Notes: During the 18 seconds Nine is gone in "Rose", he runs into Ten & Rose.

Never a Choice by Camilla Sandman. (Adult)
Author's summary: They never gave her a choice. Time is about to. [Nine/Rose/Ten]
Notes: Nine accidentally ends up on Ten's TARDIS right before "Bad Wolf".

* Of Love and Waffles by rallalon. (WIP)
Author's summary: For the love of a waffle, a breakfast was lost; for the love of a breakfast, a flower was lost; and all for the love of a waffle.
Notes: Rose at 27 (with Ten) and Rose at 19 (with Nine) get switched in time. Brilliant and gorgeous. There's also a small bit with Seven and Ace. In progress, updated sporadically.

Scientific Experiments in Lip Gloss and Paradoxes by shinyopals.
Author's summary: 'I- I- You are joking,' he stuttered.
'What,' began his (sulky, big-eared) ninth incarnation, 'are you doing here?'
'Erm... well... having a picnic, actually,' said the Doctor brightly, scratching the back of his neck. 'The funny thing is, I don't actually remember being here before.'

Notes: Ten, Rose, and Donna are trying to have a relaxing day when Nine and younger Rose show up.

* Suicide Blonde by rabid1st. (Adult)
Author's summary: The Doctor meets Rose Tyler for the first time, but it’s long after she first met him.

Notes: At the end of her life, Rose says her farewells to her two Doctors.

Trojan Walls by Carlisle_Cooperative.
Author's summary: Rose and Ten visit Asia Minor. It just so happens that they arrive during the beginning of a historic siege.
Notes: Rose gets mistaken for Helen of Troy, gets separated from Ten, and runs into Nine (who went to Asia Minor during the 18 seconds he was gone in "Rose").

Two Time Lords on a Boat by goldy_dollar.
Author's summary: Ten crashes into the Titanic. Nine is not impressed. Can they stop bickering long enough to solve the problem?
Notes: Rose isn't actually present in this one, but she is mentioned several times, and Nine and Ten are so funny together, I couldn't resist.

What the Doctor Forgot by Camilla Sandman. (Adult)
Author's summary: "Would I foolishly fling myself into a situation where I would need to be saved from trouble by a past self and Rose Tyler, bronze-medal-winning gymnast?" [Nine/Rose/Ten]
Notes: Pre-Rose Nine accidentally gets a phone call from Rose, and comes to help her save Ten. Then there is the smokin' threesome action.

Many or all incarnations of the Doctor
A Cuddle for a Dalek by spastasmagoria.
Author's summary: There's only one thing the deranged dustbin wants in all the universe...
Notes: A bit of a cheat for me, as this doesn't have Rose interacting with the past Doctors, but instead, a deranged dalek is the main character. However, Rose is part of this story in a couple different time periods, and it is far too hysterical to miss.

A Long History by Jessa L'Rynn.
Author's summary: Boy meets girl, the eternal tale, as old as time. Before the beginning, the story starts with the answers at the center of the circle.
Notes: Quite unique and rather marvelous. A certain young Time Lord in training meets a certain human girl, as all sorts of time lines swirl around them. Shippy multi-chapter; epic and twisty.

A Thousand Languages by madlori.
Author's summary: Rose thought she knew how it would be when it happened, but things are rarely as we imagine them.
Notes: Mostly a Ten/Rose story, but with future and past Doctors within as well.

Circular by Jeanne.
Summary: The trouble with time travel, see, is that there are no beginnings, no endings. Everything's circular--one person's past is another's future.
Notes: Short but poignant. (Eight, Nine, and Ten.)

City of Loss by gwynnega.
Author's summary: After "The Parting of the Ways," Rose meets more than one Doctor.
Notes: The newly regenerated Tenth Doctor takes Rose back to see the Ninth, but she also manages to run into the Fourth Doctor.

Facets by padawanpooh. (Adult)
Author's summary: To save her Doctor's future, Rose has to go back in time and meet all previous incarnations of the Timelord. There'll be danger, humour, romance and adventure!
Notes: Set early in Ten's timeline. The first part of a longer series. I also especially recommend the sequel The Other Christmas Invasion which is quite funny, and also includes all 10 Doctors, as well as Jackie.

Five Ways Rose Didn't Reunite with the Doctor and One Way She Did by Camilla Sandman.
Author's summary: The impossible is possible. It's still going to be nothing like she imagined. [Implied Doctor/Rose. Special guest stars One, Five, Eight, Nine and Martha]
Notes: Rose is trying to get back to the Doctor, post "Doomsday".

Ghost in the Machine by Rain.
Author's summary: Rose is lost in time. Cue a rollercoaster ride of comedy, tragedy, misunderstandings, miracles and faces from the past.
Notes: Rose slips through the TARDIS, from her time in Nine's timeline, back into the past and forward into the future.

Just One Day by Asano.
Author's summary: It only takes one day for the Doctor to realize exactly what he's willing to sacrifice to save the universe and the people he loves.
Notes: Eight, Nine, Ten, Rose, and a lot of messed-up timelines. Excellent multi-chapter adventure.

* Non-Linear Love Story by rallalon. (Adult)
Author's summary: "Come with me." She's worth it, he thinks. They fit so well together and she already knows how to use a fire extinguisher.
Notes: Lovely, lovely love story with Eight, Nine, Ten, and Rose all tied together in time.

Notes From a Bed of Rose's by redscharlach.
Author's summary: The Doctor loves to watch Rose sleep. Rose is somewhat less enthusiastic about it. An irreverent but affectionate look at something of a fanfic cliché.
Notes: Crack-tastically funny fic about Rose sleeping. At one point, Doctors One through Nine are involved.

Phoenix by randombattlecry.
Author's summary: There’s very little of his homeworld left to him. It hides in the back of his mind, waiting for the perfect moment to reawaken.
Notes: A bit surreal, but a decent story about a Gallifreyan creature linked to regeneration.

Time, Roses, and the Wolf by Amy Wolf.
Author's summary: They've kissed ten times by his count. He doesn't dare kiss her again.
Notes: The Doctor (in all his incarnations) keeps meeting Rose (at all different ages), but there's always something about wolves. Interesting and timey-wimey.

When the Doctors Meet by Superherogrlcat.
Notes: An absolutely brilliant comic about the Doctors all meeting, including amusing fights between Nine & Ten (and even Eight) over Rose. The link is to page one, it goes on from there.

When You're Older / How He Loved Her by Jessa L'Rynn. (Adult-ish)
Author's summary: The story of a girl, and the men she meets as she grows into a woman. / Over the course of 900 years, there are ways and ways to meet someone.
Notes: As she grows up, Rose meets all ten incarnations of the Doctor. "When You're Older" is her perspective, "How He Loved Her" is the Doctor's. Both well-thought out.
