Avengers Fantasy Casting

Some of the Avengers I'd love to see show up in later movies, with my fantasy casting. Image heavy, so under cut.

Feel free to join in! Pictures strongly encouraged. Arguments and alternate suggestions welcome.


I realize some of these actors aren't really age appropriate to the roles, but hey, RDJ is too old to be Tony, really, and I wouldn't change that casting for the world, so I think I get some slack here.

Also, I started out trying to match photos to comic poses, but got lazy pretty quickly.


LL Cool J as Luke Cage, aka Powerman. THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE. (And I might sneak Chris O'Donnell in there as Danny Rand for reasons.)


Joanne Kelly as Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch. The curls are key.


Katee Sackhoff as Carol Danvers, aka Ms. Marvel/Warbird. I stole this one from ykoriana, but I totally agree that she would be freaking perfect.


Katie McGrath as Jessica Drew, aka Spiderwoman. I was torn, because she would be a good choice for Wanda, too, but I think Katie would amazing for the Secret Invasion storyline.


Lucy Lawless as Jen Walters, aka She-Hulk. Look at the picture of She-Hulk- she could have been modeled on Lucy. Also, the BAMF factor combined with a sense of humor...


Michaela Conlin as Janet Van Dyne, aka The Wasp. The smile and sense of humor are perfect.


Summer Glau as Jessica Jones, aka Jewel/etc. Summer would be totally badass for the Alias-era Jess, but also for the superhero stuff, too.


Aldis Hodge as Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon. I think a sense of humor is key for Sam. Also, Aldis with his shirt off + wings...


Karl Urban as Simon Williams, aka Wonderman. YESSSSS.


And finally, Chris Evans with his hair dyed red as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. I think it would be hilarious to see him play yet another Marvel Universe character, and he'd also be an awesome Matt.



I guess I'd need Hank Pym, Vision, and Pietro too, and I love Beast with Simon, but I wasn't very inspired in choosing people for any of those roles.

I like the new pics. This whole post is full of pretty, pretty things and while I would probably never have thought of Lucy Lawless for She-hulk, it's really ridiculously perfect.

Thanks! There are a couple more that could stand to be better mirrors, but for example, there are very few good scans of Sam Wilson/The Falcon online. Laaaaaaaame.

Seriously. She's perhaps a bit old for it now, but she would be AMAZING anyway.

ETA: While I'm thinking of it, I've seen both Morena Baccarin and Olivia Munn suggested as Jan, though I think I prefer Michaela Conlin to either.

When I was searching for good Wasp pictures, I noticed that several people had suggested Morena Baccarin for Wasp, and while looks-wise, she's perfect, and I think she's a fab actor, I'm not sure how good she would be at the silly side of Jan. Because Jan definitely can be adorably geeky & ridiculous, too.

Yeah, I actually don't really like Morena Baccarin that much though I will concede she is gorgeous. Olivia Munn could be great, but I'm not familiar enough with her to say one way or another so I'm sticking with the safe option of Michaela Conlin.

I've also seen Michael C Hall and Misha Collins suggested for Murdock, but I really can't imagine either, especially Misha Collins, as a redhead.

Yeah... there are almost no male actors of approximately the right age and build that I can think of that look and act Matt-like enough for me. Chris Evans with red hair would work, but barring that, they'd probably be better off casting a relative unknown. Probably one from Australia, considering how well that worked with Thor...

So many of my favorite actors in here, OMG. Lucy Lawless as She-Hulk is freaking perfect! Also, I love Michaela Conlin and I'd never have imagined her as Jan... Intriguing!

I am really not a fan of the Ultimates, and especially not their version of Jan, but I did appreciate that they recast some of the characters with different ethnicities, so I think that might have affected my choice a bit. But Michaela does the flirty and fun thing really well, but can also play serious and in charge.

I know, right? Especially the ladies. Not that I don't love Natasha, but seriously, the Avengers movie has a serious lack of women.
